Expansion Plans For Paperworks
December 15th 2011
Paperworks is to launch a new outreach service in Nidderdale after securing funding from North Yorkshire County Council’s Innovation Fund.
The funding will see Harrogate-based Paperworks work with the Nidderdale Plus Partnership to extend its adult training provision to those living in outlying parts of North Yorkshire.
The project will make use of existing community facilities in Pateley Bridge and other locations where trainee numbers are greatest and ultimately Paperworks plans to open a new social enterprise in Nidderdale.
The Innovation Fund will see the expansion of the Paperworks service and the creation of a new development officer’s post.
Katy Penn, Nidderdale Plus Partnership Manager, commented: I am delighted to have this opportunity of extending the current services offered by Nidderdale Plus to our local communities. I look forward to assisting Paperworks in this initiative and ensuring that potential trainees gain access to their services.'
The expansion aims to provide a long term solution to the current need for training provision in rural North Yorkshire.
"Our long term objective is for the development officer's post and the new enterprise to be self-sustaining financially through additional training income and increased commercial income from Paperworks' print and fulfilment services," said Damien.
Paperworks and the Knaresborough Bed Race, Result! June 2011

Well they did it, not only that but the Paperworks Bed Race Team smashed both their previous time and fundraising total.
They came in at a final time of 19mins and 19 seconds in a creditable 45th Place out of 90. This knocked over a minute off their previous personal best and moved them at least 6 places up table. But the real achievement came with the total funds raised for Paperworks. We had high hopes that last years total of £4,500 would be beaten. But this really did not prepare us for the final total announced. Between them the Harrogate Roundatble runners raised a total of over £7,000 from corporate sponsors, family, friends and other "tablers" contributions. Added to this Harrogate Roundtable presented a cheque for £3,000 to take the total into double figures. Combined with the sponsorship raised by Paperworks trainees and volunteers it looks like we will have raised over £11,000 as a result of this years fantastic effort.
There really is no satisfactory way to say Thank you to Ian Brindle, James Pickard, Rob Burns, Paul Rutter, Nick Jewkitt and Stuart Wright but Paperworks are indebted to these guys and all those that supported them.

Special thanks to all the corporate sponsor, particularly Fishers as mainsponsors of the bed and Vital as main sponsor of the race team.
